Dishwashers are "very good", they do not shake and rattle like washing machines and so have a much longer lifespan. However, they will require a service from time to time.

Dishwasher will not drain.
Sounds bad but it's not, realy. Nine out of ten times this problem is caused by blockage. It is a symptom that is
common to most dishwashers and seems worst than actually is. At worst it may need a new drain pump. More often than not
a service is all that is required.
Do not throw out what is likely to be a very good machine before speaking to us.
Dishwasher will not wash hot.
Dishes are still wet, no steam when door is opened. This problem is common with all dishwashers. Where spares are required,
the total repair cost is based on the make and model of your dishwasher.
Inspection, repair and a service will extend the life of your dishwasher for many more years.
Will not wash dishes clean.
The reason for this is usually because the dishwasher is not taking in enough water. This then is a minor problem
that is normally solved by a service
Not taking in water.
This is nothing new with dishwashers. Normally a service will be surfice, occasionally spares may be required.
Whenever spares are required the total repair cost is still cheaper than the cost of buying new.
Tripping or tripped mains electric.
This is caused by a short circuit. It is a common occurrence on electrical appliances. I can determine the cause.
May not be as bad as it seems.
Take in water but will not wash.
The dishwasher fills up with water but no wash action. This is a common problem that is quite easily solved.
Dishwasher leaking.
It is very common for a dishwasher to develop a leak. Luckily the repair cost is not normally very expensive. Finding
leaks requires careful and thorough inspection so
The dishwasher is dead. No signs of life whatsoever.
Power failure, either on the machine itself or at the electrical socket. Love tracing this kind of fault.
The dishwasher seems to continually drain and nothing else.
The dishwasher safety device may have triggered. A service is normally all it takes to put this fault right.
Dishwasher making a banging noise when filling. Dishes are not clean at end.
This problem is especially noticable with brands like Bosch, siemens and Neff. This fault is none other than a way
of saying the diswasher needs a complete service. It will be as good as new after.
Other faults
There are many other dishwasher fault symptoms, too many to mention here. If your fault symptom is not mentioned do not
be too concerned, it is likely to be one I have come across before. If it is not, my diagnostic techniques will reveal the cause.
Error codes
There are lots of defferent error codes for the various brands of dishwashers. They are a way of telling you something
is not quite right. Some handbook may suggest a likely cause or say "call engineer".
